October 16, 2008 Greetings from Memphis, and we hope you are doing well. We just arrived back from 13 days in Ohio. We have been in 11 states, so far, and we will re-visit some and surely be in 5 or 6 more before we are finished. As you know, I am doing very well after my knee surgery, so traveling since August 31st has been less painful. September 1st we flew to Portland, OR to visit 3 congregations in Oregon and Washington. July 30, 2008 Greetings from Memphis! Today we have safely, though tiredly, arrived from Cameroon. We came by way of Paris and Chicago, but we had adequate layovers, so we managed to make our flights. We took a total of 25 hours to travel, but our 5:35 p.m. arrival time is like 11:35 p.m. to our bodies! [Read more...]
June 14, 2008 Accept warm greetings from Cameroon, but cool ones from Nso', where it is not topping 80 degrees any day this time of year! The rains have not been heavy, but they have been steady, so places stay slick, cloudy, humid, and cool. I am sure you envy me an annual temperature range from 44 to 90. [Read more...]
March 15, 2008 In my last report, I told about how the rains kept going until November 20th, the latest ever. Well this March, it sprinkled on the 5th and 6th, and poured on the 7th and 8th, which is the earliest advent of the rains since we moved here in 1981! However, it can also stop for six weeks, after people have planted, as we have seen. So every year is different. I planted my sweet corn on March 9th. [Read more...]
